Podcasts are one of my favorite ways to spend my "in between" time. Whether I'm driving, going on a walk with my kiddos, or listening on my speaker while I make dinner, the Maximized Minimalist is one that brings the value.

Katie Joy Wells describes herself as "declutter expert, podcaster, simplifier, hype-woman, and #boymom" which are all things that I can relate to! Her high vibe energy and positive but discerning advice on managing the mental, physical, and emotional clutter in her life is a welcomed boost in my day!

We all love a podcast or youtube video where we actually feel like we can relate and wow, this one had me feeling seen! Sometimes it can be difficult to put a word or phrase to a struggle we have been experiencing. This one is called "The Invisible Load of Motherhood" and it calls out all the anxiety you have been feeling without being able to explain.

All the extra things we research and plan, worry about, or anticipate the needs of everyone. The feelings of overwhelm, responsibilities, shame, or guilt from this invisible load of motherhood can feel so heavy in addition to not being understood or seen!

In her interview with Dr. Morgan they discuss:

  • roles and responsibilities

  • navigating conversations with your partner

  • managing the shame and guilt through open communication

  • combatting resentment

  • verbalizing specific needs not just general

  • managing energy levels

  • and tips and tricks for beginning these conversations with your partner.

As a frequent listener to the Maximized Minimalist, I found this episode to be so helpful! As a connoisseur of love languages, enneagram tools and coaching programs I found this episode to check all the boxes of taking these tools and implementing them in every day life.
